The Chrome Summer Ram Sale delivered outstanding results, underpinned by strong competition, loyal return clients and encouraging support from a number of new buyers.
Buyer confidence was evident across all breeds, with multiple lines achieving 100 percent clearance with Chromedales and Poll Dorsets having the highest historical January sale top price and average ever recorded for the breed.
The top-priced ram of the sale was Lot 81, a Chromedale Ram Lamb sold to AR & VJ Hunter, Wagga Wagga for $4,100.
The top priced terminal sire was Lot 291, a ICON 25 ram sold to Mepungah, Wannon, for $3,000.
The top priced Chrome Shedder was Lot 196, purchased by North Gums, Penshurst, for $3,800.
Strong volume buying was evident throughout the sale, with Free to Fly, Armidale, securing 24 rams (18 x Chromedales and 6 x ICON Southies), Duncan MacGugan, Branxholme, purchasing 21 Chromedales and Garvald Vale Pty Ltd, Byaduk North, securing 18 Chrome Shedder Ram Lambs.
